Top 5 Tech Ceo's From India

The latest news of Sundar Pichai being promoted as the CEO of the Global Giant Google has caused a stir in Indian Citizens. And why not, this is one of the most auspicious moments of the country. Indians are marking the world with their flags gradually.

Indians make great tech CEOs especially in this digital world. The best few examples are Satya NadellaShantanu NarayenSanjay K JhaRajiv Suri and now, Sundar Pichai.
  • Satya Nadella, an Engineer from Manipal University became the CEO of Microsoft in early 2014 after heading its Cloud business for years.
  • Shantanu Narayen became the CEO of Adobe Systems in November 2007. Prior to this, he was the president and chief operating officer since 2005.
  • Sanjay K Jha from Bhagalpur, Bihar is the former CEO of Motorola Mobile Devices till the company was sold to Google in 2011. After Google, Jha became the CEO of Global Foundries, one of the largest semiconductor companies in the world. Previously, Jha was also Qualcomm's Chief Operating Officer.
  • After Microsoft's acquisition of Nokia's devices business, Rajiv Suri was named CEO as he was heading NSN, which basically is the new Nokia.
 

On August 10, 2015, an announcement was made of restructuring Google into a larger holding company called ALPHABET with Google and many more as its subsidiary. The company, Alphabet, will be headed by Google Founders as Larry Page being the CEO and Sergey Bin as the President.

Sundar Pichai was named as the CEO of Google with extraordinary remarks from the former CEO and co-founder. He mentions that “A key part of this new structure is SundarPichai. Sundar has been saying the things I would have said (and sometimes better!) for quite some time now, and I’ve been tremendously enjoying our work together. He has really stepped up since October of last year, when he took on product and engineering responsibility for our Internet businesses. Sergey and I have been super excited about his progress and dedication to the company. And it is clear to us and our board that it is time for Sundar to be CEO of Google.”

Born in 1972, SundarPichai did his engineering from IIT Kharagpur. He achieved B C Roy Silver Medal in 1993 for securing the highest marks. He later did his MS from Stanford and MBA from Wharton.

Pichai joined Google in 2004 and led the product management and innovation efforts for a suite of Google's software products. He has been the change of face for Google Chrome and development of different apps like Gmail and Google Maps.

He has received tremendous appreciations and blessings from India including the Prime Minister, NarendraModi. He twitted “Congratulations @sundarpichai. My best wishes for the new role at @google.”
