Backup Photos from Orkut before they shutdown

Google decided to shut down Orkut on September 30

San Francisco: Google will shut down its early social-networking service, Orkut, which was launched ten years ago but has failed to put Google ahead in what has become one of the Web's most popular businesses.

Google said it will shut down Orkut, which is widely used in Brazil and India but hasn't caught on more broadly, on September 30, to focus on its other social networking initiatives.
Orkut was launched early in 2004, the same year that Facebook, now the world's No.1 social network with 1.28 billion users, was founded.
The service's shutdown comes as Google's social networking plans remain in question. In April,           Vic Gundotra, the head of Google's social networking services, left the company.
Gundotra oversaw the 2011 launch of Google+, a social networking service similar to Facebook. Gundotra said in October that 300 million users visit the Google+ web page every month.
Google has increasingly sought to position Google+ less as a social networking "stream" that competes with Facebook, and more as a means of establishing a unified "user identity" system to improve Google's various Web properties. Last year, for example, Google began requiring users of its YouTube site to sign in with their Google+ identity before posting comments about videos.
The company said it would preserve an archive of all Orkut "communities" that will be available from Sept. 30.
"If you don't want your posts or name to be included in the community archive, you can remove Orkut permanently from your Google account," Google said.
But The company declined to say how many users Orkut has.
"Over the past decade, YouTube, Blogger and Google+ have taken off, with communities springing up in every corner of the world. Because the growth of these communities has outpaced Orkut's growth, we've decided to bid Orkut farewell," Google said in a post on the Orkut blog on Monday.

Google Android L Preview release on Thursday

Google plans an Android L Preview release at its Google I/O show.

Google plans to release an early version of its upcoming Android operating system, Android L Preview, on Thursday.
The software will be available for those with Google Nexus 5 smartphones andNexus 7 tablets, Android user-interface engineer Chet Haase told programmers Wednesday during a session on the new operating system at the Google I/O conference in San Francisco. It'll be available at the Android developer site, he said.
"That comes out tomorrow," Haase said. "Please get started developing today."
The Android operating system got its start on smartphones and spread to tablets. Now Google wants to see it in cars, smartwatches, TV set-top boxes, and electronic eyewear. To help the OS span all those use cases, Google announced a new "material design" interface for Android.
Google has succeeded in many ways with Android. It's the top smartphone OS, and Google expects it to displace Apple's iPad to lead in tablets, too. The company also is trying to bring it to good $100 phones for developing markets. But the mobile market is about as competitive as they come, and Google isn't satisfied. The upcoming L version of Android embodies the company's ambitions to make the software look better, work better, attract more developers, and attract more users.
Google's preview approach with the L version is a marked contrast with its past approach, where it wouldn't release new versions of Android until it was done. Beta tests and preview versions are a good way to please enthusiasts. But more important, they let programmers adjust to changes faster so their apps are ready for the new look and features as soon as possible. That means the overall Android ecosystem could move faster.
So what's in the L Preview? Haase and another Android team programmer, Dan Sandler, detailed many of the changes. Here's a look:

Overhauled notifications

Google and Apple have gradually realized the lock screen shouldn't be wasted on mobile phones, and the L release vastly expands its utility -- within privacy constraints set by app developers and users who might not want to show personal data that's not protected by an unlocking authentication process.

"In L, you hear your phone buzz, you take it out out, turn it on, and that's it," Sandler said. "It's completely glanceable."
Notifications take the form of cards, as on the current KitKat, but use a black-on-white theme instead of the KitKat's dark look. The notifications can combine more graphical elements so users can more quickly understand things like the combination of who contacted them and what means they used. And the notifications use the depth information of the material design, with features like shadows cast on what's underlying on the screen.
Android L Preview also attempts to sort cards more intelligently, based in part on cues app developers can supply. Google introduced a new template to make it easier to build media-controller cards, the sort of thing that lets users fast-forward and pause video and audio.
The new notification system also is used in Android Wear for smartwatches.

Animations and depth

The material design was inspired by the idea of a screen that had tactile features -- the kind of changing texture real-world objects have, as opposed to today's flat glassy screens. With the material design theme, developers can specify the "elevation" of an item -- how high it appears to be on the screen.
Also central to this more physically intuitive approach is animation. Buttons can ripple as they're pressed. Checkboxes can show a little splash of activity as they're tapped. And developers can specify a wide range of detailed animation behavior to control how elements bounce around, slide, expand, contract, appear, and disappear.

Better camera controls

Android L Preview lets programmers gather raw image-sensor data, which could potentially open the door to better image quality for photo enthusiasts. It also lets people capture uncompressed video data at 30 frames per second, hardware permitting, and control shutter speed, frame duration, and ISO sensitivity frame by frame.

New task switching

Android L adds finer controls to task switching. Instead of just letting people switch among apps, it'll show parts of apps -- individual documents or Web pages, for example -- so people can zero in on what they want sooner.
Cycling among those pages will use the depth and shadows of the material-design interface, too.

Faster apps

The ART runtime -- software that actually runs the Android apps -- replaces Android's earlier Dalvik virtual machine. It means that, with no changes to software, apps will run twice as fast on Android L Preview.

New tools for Web-based apps

For those building apps using browser technologies, an approach that can ease development of apps that span multiple operating systems, Google is moving its WebView engine to the technology used in Chrome 36.
That means developers of third-party apps will get access to hardware-accelerated WebGL graphics, the WebAudio interface for better sound handling, and the WebRTC technology for real-time audio and video chats.

Better power efficiency

A tool called Project Volta will let programmers dig into application power usage with Android's debugging tools. And the Battery Historian will show how usage changes over time.
Power usage is a critical constraint on mobile devices. The Android L Preview also will debut a new power-saving mode for people who expect to be away from a charger for a long time -- something that handset designers already offer on their own with some Android phones.

Smarter network handling

Android L will be able to detect some network problems before they get out of hand so apps can adjust accordingly.
"It allows a graceful handoff from one link to another -- if you're about to lose Wi-Fi when it's losing its range, you can rebuild [a video] stream on cellular [networks] with no interruption to the user," Sandler said.

Better Bluetooth

Android 4.3 introduced support for Bluetooth LE, a battery-preserving version of the short-range networking standard. That let phones connect to Bluetooth devices like heart-rate monitors to gather data.
Android L Preview goes another step with Bluetooth peripheral mode, which lets an Android device send Bluetooth to another device controlling the show.

How to get Android performance boost right now

How to get Android performance boost right now

You all don't need the newest version of Android to get all of the performance benefits. Here's how you can speed up your Android device in one easy step.

Google on Wednesday announced an update to the Android operating system at its I/O developer conference in San Francisco. The latest version, code-named Android L, includes a revamped notification system, an updated user interface, smarter unlock features, and a new battery-saving mode. The update, which will officially arrive on devices later this year, also promises to double app performance thanks to the new ART runtime. However, many people aren't aware you don't need Android L to enable ART on your device.
Google introduced ART in 2013 with the Nexus 5 and Android 4.4 KitKat, which means your device must be running KitKat for this process. Even so, however, not all Android 4.4 devices support ART at this time. I can confirm that this method works for the HTC One M8, Samsung Galaxy S5, Moto X, Moto G, the Nexus 5, and 2013 Nexus 7. Some other phones, such as the Korean model of the LG G2, also have the ability to enable ART.
Head over to the settings menu, select About Phone, and click on build number seven times. This will enable your device's Developer options, which will give you access to more advanced settings.
art.png
From the settings menu, select Developer options, scroll down to Select runtime, and choose ART. After rebooting, your device will begin to optimize your apps for the new runtime. This should take a few minutes, but when complete you will notice a considerable performance boost on most devices.
I should warn you, though, that some (and I mean very few) apps may be incompatible with the ART runtime. If one of the apps you use is unable to open or you are having trouble receiving a software update, simply switch back to Dalvik mode using the same process.

Harley Davidson Electric bike with amazing features check it out

Harley Davidson electric motor bike

Harley-Davidson is giving its first electric motorcycle a road trip, stopping the environmentally friendly Hog in NYC as it looks for consumer feedback to expand sales beyond traditional customers. Conway G. Gittens reports,

You're looking at the first-ever electric Harley-Davidson motorcycle, coming to a showroom near you sometime in 2016. Here's what the LiveWire means for motorcycles, America and the future.
First, we should emphasize that "Project LiveWire," as you see it here, is not a production motorcycle. It's a rolling test bed not for technology, but to gauge customer reaction and slowly introduce people to the idea of an electric Harley. ( Detailed Video Given Below )

Having said that, production of a bike like this is inevitable. Electric motivation has so many performance advantages over Internal Combustion engines, that even Harley can't ignore the technology for long. — an authoritative source for motorcycle industry insight and reviews — says we should expect a production LiveWire in 2016.

learn apple secret gestures you may dont know

Learn apple secret iOS gestures you may not know

Some New Apple users they don't know how to Manage & Acess the Applications of  Iphones & ipads using simple gestures,

Detailed information about some important gestures we hope these will definitely help you,

Given below ( Scroll Down ),

Swipe right to jump back

Dubbed "The new gesture in iOS 7 you want to know about," this gesture is particularly useful during one-handed operation of your iPhone because it saves you from stretching your thumb to the back button (commonly located in the upper-left or lower-left corners) in an effort to move back one screen. Instead, just swipe right from the left edge of the screen to jump back to the previous screen.

The move is supported in a wide range of apps and is useful, for example, in the Mail and Messages apps to return from an email or text to the full message list, or in Settings to go back a screen. In Safari, you can use the gesture to move back as well as the reverse to move forward.

Swipe up to force-close apps

This one gesture you know unless you have never force-closed an app or are of the small minority that use iOS 6 or an even earlier version.
In iOS 7, you no longer need to make an app icon wiggle in the app drawer to close the app. Now when you double-tap the home button, you get cards above the app icons in the app drawer that shows a screenshot of the app. To force-close an app, swipe up on the screenshot card.

Swipe right in Messages to see time stamp

No longer must we rely on the infrequent and seemingly random array of time stamps in the Messages app to hazard a guess as to when a text arrived. With iOS 7, one needs only to swipe left to view the time of arrival of each individual message in a conversation.

Shake to undo in Mail

This gesture isn't new but iOS 7 brought it conveniently to the Mail app. Now, you can shake to undo archiving, filing, and deletion of e-mails in the Mail app.

Control when Control Center is activated

This last slide is not about a gesture so much as controlling a gesture. You’ve no doubt come to know and love the Control Center that is readily accessible by swiping up from the bottom edge. If you find it a bit too readily accessible because you activate it with scrolling up in Safari, for example, or during some particularly intense swiping in a game, then you should know you can limit Control Center’s reach. Head to Settings > Control Center and you’ll see two toggle switches to disable Control Center on the lock screen or -- more usefully -- from within apps.

Shortcut to your drafts in the Mail app

Need to return to an email you started but haven't sent yet? Before you dig through the Mail app to find the Drafts folder, read the next sentence.
To access your drafts quickly, just long press the compose button in the lower-right corner of the main Mailboxes screen in the Mail app.

Long-press the "." key for shortcut to .com key

In Safari, you won't find a .com key but it’s not far away. Just long-press the "." key for a menu of five common suffixes that defaults to the trusted .com. Long-pressing to enter .com takes a half a beat longer than it would with a dedicated .com key, but we can all agree that a long-press is faster than four taps.

Long-press comma for shortcut to apostrophe key

This one is iPad only because both the comma and apostrophe keys are located on the same, secondary keyboard on the iPhone. On the standard iPad keyboard, however, the comma rightfully makes it to the bright lights of the primary keyboard, leaving a seldom-used and redundant comma key to keep the poor apostrophe key company on the secondary keyboard. Or so you thought! Just long-press the comma on the primary keyboard to reveal an apostrophe key.

Tap, hold, and drag to reschedule calendar appointments

In the calendar app, you can tap to open an entry, then tap Edit, then tap the to change the start or end time, and then spin the dial change the time or date. If you have the day right and need to change only the time, there is a faster way. From the day single day view, just tap and hold on the appointment and it will turn a shade darker to alert you that you can drag it to a new time.

Four- and five-finger iPad gestures

Claw at your iPad for efficiency.
Now, you could double tap the home button to call up the app drawer to close an app, but a faster way is to swipe up with four fingers from any screen. You can then close the drawer by with a four-finger downward swipe.
And when you are in an app, you can swipe sideways with four fingers to switch to the next or previous app, while a five-finger swipe returns you to the home screen.

Amazon Unveils Its smart Phone

Amazon Unveils Its  Phone

Few Days Back In Seattle, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos announced the e-commerce giant's further foray into mobile, with the launch of the Phone. named as Fire phone ,For those following Amazon, this shouldn't be a huge surprise.
Earlier this month, the online retailer rolled out a 50-second teaser video that had customers looking at the hidden-from-view device and remarking on it with variations of "Whoa," and "I don't think I've seen anything like that." It wasn't too much of a stretch to assume the gadget they were examining was indeed a smartphone.
Leading up to the launch event, attendees received a copy of the CEO's favorite childhood book, Mr. Pine's Purple House by Leonard P. Kessler and note from Bezos that said "I think you'll agree the world is a better place when things are a little bit different."
To that end, the phone has a 4.7-inch screen, a durable Gorilla Glass 3 and rubber frame and aluminum buttons. It comes with 2GB of RAM, a quad-core 2.2GHz processor, 13 megapixel rear-facing camera with optical image stabilization to combat shaky handling and four front facing cameras (complete with infrared lights) that create a 3-D "dynamic perspective."
That "dynamic perspective" changes the images users see as the device is tiled and moved around. You can angle the phone to scroll through an article or gallery of photos. For example, when playing a game, you can do so without touching the screen -- the phone will track your head and face at all times to adjust to your movements.
Also included is free unlimited photo storage on the Amazon cloud drive and magnetized ear buds with a flat cable (in an attempt to cut down on tangling).  Plus, you can "fling" videos from your phone to Amazon TV and with their Advanced Streaming and Prediction (ASAP) technology the phone can predict what you want to watch and pre-buffer it. The phone also comes with free "Mayday" customer support like with the Kindle Fire.
At the event Bezos also demonstrated a new app called Firefly. With Firefly, the phone can recognize images of books, DVDs, URLs, bar codes and QR Codes and search for them in the database for users to be able to purchase. Bezos says it can identify more than 100 million items -- from a song to a work of art to an episode of Game of Thrones. There is a Firefly button on the phone and third-party developers like myfitnesspal, iHeartRadio and Vivino, have already utilized Firefly SDK.
The phone starts at $199 and AT&T will be the exclusive carrier with a two-year contract. Customers can pre-order it now and it will ship on July 25th. Twelve months of Amazon Prime are included and existing Prime members get an additional 12 months free with the purchase. Another mobile partnership was also announced this week.  Starting in the fall, Blackberry 10 devices will offer users 240,000 Android apps from the Amazon store like Candy Crush Saga, Netflix and Pinterest.
Let us See who is going to lead Smart phone Market in coming Years,
Finally All the Best to Amazon Team................................................!

apple Siri tips that'll make your life easier

apple Siri tips that'll make your life easier

First you should Train ' Siri ' to work smarter for you

There are so many ways Siri can make your life easier. But if you don't know the proper commands, you might get a lot of unwanted sass. Here's a growing list of tips and tricks that Siri a better personal assistant,

Stop speaking like a robot

Even though Siri isn't quite as human as the personal assistant from the movie "Her," she's capable of understanding very human speak.
The next time you say a command, don't worry so much about it sounding perfect or being exact -- Siri will figure it out.

Don't sacrifice grammar for Siri

You'll sound a little silly, but using punctuation (and smileys) is as easy as saying the punctuation. For example, "Hey comma how are you question mark smiley face" will turn into "Hey, how are you? :-)"

It's OK, you can change your mind

Even though her assertiveness suggests otherwise, the commands you give Siri aren't set in stone.
If you need to change a completed command, follow up immediately by tapping the mic and saying, "Change it."

Reveal your history

Siri can be so helpful that it's easy to have a long conversation with the assistant. To recall an answer she gave you earlier in the conversation, just swipe down to scroll up.

Teach Siri correct pronunciations

For the lognest time, Siri called me "Sharon Prawwwwwfis." Annoying.
If Siri misprounces your name -- or anyone else's -- there's an easy way to correct that.
At any point just say, "That's not how you pronounce [name]" and Siri will take you through a process of correcting it.

Alarm-setting for the lazy

When you're drowsy and slipping into slumber, it's appropriate to feel too lazy to set an alarm. So, let Siri do it by saying "Set my alarm for [time]."

Siri can tweet, too

Don't let Siri stop you from being social. If you've set up your Facebook and Twitter accounts on your iDevice, Siri can handle status updates. Just say, "Tweet [insert tweet here]" or "Update Facebook [your message here]."
Siri can even understand hash tags, so "Tweet Go USA exclamation point hash tag world cup" turns into "Go USA! #worldcup."

Make Siri listen

Siri can be quick to interrupt, especially if you're in the middle of a thought.
To prevent her from cutting you off, continue holding down the mic button (or home button) until you complete your comand.

Decide with a coin flip

Can't decide? Let Siri handle it for you. Just say, "Flip a coin," and Siri will randomly populate heads or tails. And, she's so authentic that sometimes the coin falls in the crack of her virtual sidewalk.

Search for something on Google

If you'd rather use Google search for the answers you need, just say "Google search [your search term]."
This is especially useful if you want to see Google's search cards for things like sports, nutritional information, flights, and language translations.

Search for a note or e-mail

Need to quickly find an e-mail or note? Siri can handle it. Just say "Find my note about [word]" and it'll appear.

Assign nicknames and relationships

To be able to use commands like "Text my sister" or "E-mail my manager," you have to tell Siri who these people are.
You can create any kind of relationship -- even unconventional ones like "lifesaver" -- by telling Siri "[Person's name] is my [relationship]".

Use complex commands

Don't be afraid to talk on and on about your upcoming appointment -- Siri can handle it. In this example, Siri noted the name of the event, the time, its location, and the invitee. To top it off, the guest even received a calendar invite.

It's a bird, it's a plane!

While you wait at the bus stop, sinking into boredom, get Siri to entertain you. The personal assistant can tell you which planes are traveling overhead in real time.
Practical? No. Entertaining? Yes.

Learn the basics

To see a list of some of the most helpful commands Siri can handle, just say, "What can I say?"

Launch apps

Now that folders can be nested in folders nested in folders, it's easy to lose track of an app. Instead of hunting around, just tell Siri to launch the app you're looking for.

Give yourself a new name

By default, Siri will address you with your name as it's entered in your Contacts. But if you want to spice things up, just ask Siri to call you something else.
"Queen of the Universe" has a nice ring to it, right?

Make Siri manly

The default voice for Siri is female, but if you prefer a male personal assistant, set that option by going to Settings > General > Siri > Voice Gender.

common iOS problems and Guide to fix them

Common iOS problems and Guide to fix them quickly,
We all Feel our  Iphones aren't perfect. They can be slow, have trouble powering on, and suffer from terrible battery life.                                                                                       These are some quick fixes for some of the most common Problems Iphone &  IPad owners face.

1) Battery drain

Poor battery life is a problem every user must deal with. Disabling background apps from refreshing, shutting off automatic updates, and changing location services can greatly improve battery life on iOS 7.
The Background App Refresh option can be turned off by going to Settings, clicking on General, and selecting Background App Refresh. You can choose to disable the feature all together, although you may be better off just turning it off for the apps that don't need refreshing.
Next, head to Settings, click on Privacy, and select Location Services. Scroll down and choose System Services. While some of these options are designed to improve your experience, some can actually dramatically drain your battery life. I recommend disable iAds, Popular Near Me, and the Frequent Locations feature.
Automatic app updates are quite convenient, but they can also effect the battery on your device. This feature can be disabled  by going to Settings, clicking on iTunes & App Store, and scrolling down to Updates.

2) Frozen or slow user interface

Is your iPhone or iPad running poorly? Go to Settings, select General, and click on Usage.
Devices typically begin to slow down as their internal storage fills up. If you have a lot of unused apps or old photos, delete them or move them to the cloud. An iOS app can be deleted with a long press on the home screen.
I also recommend disabling the parallax wallpaper. On the iPhone 4 and 4S, click on General in the settings menu, followed by Accessibility, and turn on the Reduce Motion option.
Newer iPad models, along with iPhone 5 and 5S models running iOS 7.1 can go to the Wallpaper & Brightness settings, tap the lock screen wallpaper, and togglePerspective Zoom to off. You must then do the same process on your device's home screen wallpaper,

3) Connectivity issues

If you are having a problem connecting to Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, or your cellular network, enable Airplane mode for 30 seconds, toggle it off, and try connecting again. Sometimes simply toggling the specific connection can also solve the problem.
Still having issues? Try repairing or setting up your Bluetooth device or Wi-Fi network again. Go to Settings, click on General, select Reset, followed by Reset Network Settings.

4) Stalled text messages

Ensure you are connected to the Internet either through Wi-Fi or cellular, click the red exclamation point next to the message, and click the "try again" option.
If the problem continues, try restarting your device by holding the Home and Power buttons.

5) Syncing problems

Syncing problems can occur when the service you are trying to use is offline. If you are having your own connection issues, however, you will also run into problems. First, ensure that you are connected to the Internet, double check that your password is correct, and try syncing again.
Still having problems? Remove the account from your device and add it again. Your accounts can be accessed in the Mail, Contacts, Calendars option in your phone's settings menu.

6) App crashes

If there is an update available for your iPhone or iPad, accept and install it. You should also keep your apps up-to-date to ensure they run properly.
If an app is unresponsive or has crashed, you should double-tap the Home button, swipe the specific app away, and try reopening it.

7) Unresponsive screen

You may want to throw your phone against the wall when it begins to malfunction, but there isn't a need to panic. Most problems are fixed with a simple restart.
If your phone has completely locked up, press and hold the power button and Home key at the same time until you see the Apple logo. This will reboot your device.
For even more tips and tricks for iOS 7, check out this slideshow about the 10 gestures you need to know about.
